Graded and Vocational examinations (from 5 years)
At Niki School of Ballet we follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) system of training, where we prepare students for exams. RAD offers internationally recognised examinations and assessments. Students may start with the Pre-School Dance curriculum ‘Dance to your own tune’, followed by the Pre-Primary and Primary levels and then into eight Graded levels or six Vocational Graded levels. Students study Graded Levels and have the freedom to study Vocational Levels simultaneously. Vocational graded examinations usually are aimed for those who wish to pursue a dancing career. At the same time we are encouraging students who do not wish to purse a dancing career to still attend these classes in order to strengthen their ballet performance and develop an in-depth knowledge in ballet genre. Our school is an examination centre and exams are held twice a year, in both winter and summer sessions. It is recommended that those seeking to take examinations should attend classes twice a week.
Since 1983, we have maintained a high standard of results and aim to continue this trend. Essentially, our school seeks to encourage all our students to embrace dance and achieve whatever they aspire to.
